Me! You! Us!
“Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?”
IT'S ME! IT'S YOU! IT'S US!
We look forth as the morning!
Looketh forth means to look out of. What does it mean to look out of the morning? I am reminded of the verse, "weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning." We are the ones that look at life from the perspective of eternity and the finished work of the cross. We are ALREADY seated with Christ in Heavenly places. We ALREADY have the victory. Death has ALREADY been defeated. We can see the end, and so even though we still go through the night of our earthly lives, we know that night has ALREADY ended. We can look with spiritual eyes to the dawn of the new, eternal day with the Lord. We are ALREADY seeing life from the perspective of the morning.
We are fair as the moon!
The word "fair" means beautiful. It comes from the word which means to be bright. We are as bright as the moon. We are the light in the darkness because HE is in us. Others are drawn to us because of the glory in us that can be seen through our Holy Spirit inspired words and actions. We can see in the dark because we are the light in the dark.
We are clear as the sun!
The sun at its core is 27 million degrees. NOTHING can withstand the heat of the sun. The same is true of the SON. Nothing of the flesh can withstand the heat of His presence. The word "clear" means pure. We are as pure as the purifying heat of the sun. We are pure because the Lord, in His mercy, turns up the fire in our lives in order to burn the dross and leave nothing but a pure vessel of honor in its place. Our righteousness is as a filthy rag, but Him in us makes us pure (clear).
And
We are terrible as an army with banners!
An army with banners is fearless. They march boldly into the enemy's camp with their banner of victory before them. Before the battle is even fought, they declare that they are victorious. This type of bold fearlessness is terrible for the enemy to behold. We literally strike terror into their hearts.
We are the Shulamite in Song of Songs. We will come out of the wilderness leaning on our Beloved because we will have lived this life knowing who we are in Him: those who look forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun and terrible as an army with banners.
