You are NOT a Tame Lioness!

The word "tame" sounds nice and sweet, but some of its definitions should never be associated with a child of God!

  • Tame means to be broken, but Colossians 2:10 says that I am complete through my union with Christ!

  • Tame means to be subdued and conquered, but Deuteronomy 9:3 says that God will go before us like a devouring fire to destroy and subdue our enemies so that we can conquer them quickly and drive them out!

  • Tame means to be bland, dull, insipid and boring, but Psalm 144:15 says that happy are the people whose God is the LORD!

  • Tame means to be docile and pliable, but Isaiah 50:7 says that the Lord GOD will help us, therefore we shall not be confounded but we shall set our face like flint!

Should the word "tame" ever describe the Bride of the King of Kings? Absolutely not! We are not subjugated individuals. We are not tame. We are wild. We are to live an exciting life and walk out a destiny full of adventure. We are to make the name of the Lord famous in our time. Whether it be in the lives of few or many, we are to make history, and in the words of Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, "well behaved (tame) women rarely make history."

Tame also means to be domesticated. Lisa Bevere teaches in her Lioness Arising series that before we got saved, we were domesticated by satan. Now that we are covered with the Blood and now that we are vessels of the Spirit of God, we are FREE to be wild and dangerous! We are to rebel against the domestication of satan!

When talking about a lioness, the words "wild", "dangerous" and "awake" can be used interchangeably. The nature of a lion is tame when it is asleep, but there is nothing more wildly dangerous that a lion that is fully awake. A lion who is awake, responds.

There is nothing more dangerous to the enemy than a believer that is fully awake! A believer who is awake, responds. We must respond to the call of destiny on our lives! And, the response must be fierce because our God is fierce. Look at some of His names:

Yahweh Nissi: “The Lord is my Banner.” Stresses that God is our rallying point and our means of victory; the one who fights for His people (Ex. 17:15).

Yahweh Sabbaoth: “The Lord of Hosts.” A military figure portraying the Lord as the commander of the armies of heaven (1 Sam. 1:3; 17:45).

El Elyon: “The Most High God.” Stresses God’s strength, sovereignty, and supremacy (Gen. 14:19; Ps. 9:2; Dan. 7:18, 22, 25).

It's not important for us to be wild, awake and untamed just for ourselves, to benefit our own walk with the Lord. We must be dangerously awake for those in this world that we are meant to inspire and lead to Jesus! When we walk around like tranquilized tame Christians, who suffers? The world suffers! When we are conscious but incapacitated, who loses out? The world does! It's time for us to do what Romans 13:14 says: "Get out of bed and get dressed! Don't loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!" It's time for us to believe Luke 4:18-19,21: "God's Spirit is on me; He's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, "This is God's year to act!"

Sometimes, we fall into tameness because the problems in our lives and in the world are so big, but we must remember that WE ARE GOD CREATED ANSWERS! When we walk around overfed and unconcerned (tame), then the world creates their own answers to problems based on the desires and prompting of their flesh, and they lose out on the wisdom we can give as we are led by Christ.

REMEMBER that we are anointed for a reason.

REMEMBER that passivity kills.

REMEMBER that the enemy will try to tranquilize (absorb us and make us so busy that we have time for nothing worthwhile).

REMEMBER we are responsible for what we allow to absorb and exhaust us.

REMEMBER to be awake to what God is doing.

REMEMBER to get involved in what He is doing.

REMEMBER that you are dangerous and fully awake.

REMEMBER that you are NOT a tame lioness!
